Vision-based Autonomous Systems

Autonomous systems augmented with computer vision and artificial intelligence have the potential to change the world of mobility systems. With the advancement in technology and wider applications, there has been significant interest in developing vision-based autonomous mobility systems. The development of such systems is made possible with advancements in technological developments of small size but efficient vision sensors, servo controls, responsive actuators, and artificial intelligence. The proposed lab aims at knowledge generation towards vision-based control of Autonomous mobility systems. The lab will house aerial and ground-based all-terrain vehicles with manipulation, autonomous machines and other capabilities. The lab will also develop the capability of a vision assisted teleoperation system for robust visual feed transmission. The lab will also focus on developing technologies in the area of vision-based navigation, manipulation, control, and computing and will have related equipment and tools to support activities in these areas.
